Rizzoli & Isles, Delta Blues, and Aliens Coming to TNT

TNT fans have three huge reasons to get happy these days. Earlier this week, the network announced its welcome decision to greenlight three new original series: the tentatively titled crime shows Rizzoli & Isles and Delta Blues, as well as an unnamed alien invasion project starring ER veteran Noah Wyle.
This development means that TNT now has a total of ten original series under its belt, an impressive stable of in-house entertainment for any basic-cable network. So, continue reading to learn a few details about the newcomers, all of which have scored ten-episode initial orders.
Southland: ‘Unknown Trouble’ Pilot Preview

As next week’s 10pm ET, January 12 TNT premiere of NBC import Southland quickly approaches, the network has posted yet another sneak peek at the series.
This time, the preview focuses on the series pilot “Unknown Trouble,” which will air sans commercial interruptions during the crime drama’s Tuesday-night TNT debut. What more could you ask for?
Wanna Meet ‘Southland’ Star Michael Cudlitz?

Have you always wanted to meet Southland star Michael Cudlitz but just never had the opportunity? If so, you’ve finally got a chance coming up in 2010, provided you can make it to the Chicago area during the chilly month of January.
On January 6, the Standoff and Band of Brothers veteran, who currently plays police officer John Cooper on the NBC import, will visit the Windy City to attend an exclusive Q&A session and screening party for the crime drama, which will feature a previously unaired episode.
Southland: The Overview and The Preview

TNT has just released a couple more new videos for the highly anticipated NBC import Southland, which makes its network premiere on Tuesday, January 12, at 10pm ET.
The first clip is a 2½-minute preview montage featuring assorted scenes from the series, mixed with brief shots of series regulars Michael Cudlitz (John Cooper), Regina King (Lydia Adams), and Benjamin McKenzie (Ben Sherman), who provide a little context and insight into the show.
TNT Releases First ‘Southland’ Promo

Getting excited for the TNT premiere of the former NBC cop drama Southland? Well, so is TNT, and the network has released its first-ever promo clip for the series to prove it.
Called Everyday, the one-minute clip was featured during the December 7 debut of the hit new Ray Romano dramedy Men of a Certain Age.
Catch New TBS Talk Show ‘Lopez Tonight’ on TNT

Turner sister networks TNT and truTV are doing something special for the November 9 premiere of TBS’ new late-night talk show Lopez Tonight, namely broadcasting the debut episode all at the same time when it comes on from 11pm ET to midnight.
The hourlong Lopez Tonight will air Monday through Thursday on TBS, with comedian and George Lopez sitcom star George Lopez in the host’s seat. He also serves as an executive producer.
TNT Makes ‘Southland’ Move Official

The deal has been done! As of November 2, TNT and Warner Bros. Television have reached an agreement that allows the network to exclusively air all 13 episodes of the canceled former NBC cop drama Southland, which is produced by Emmy winner John Wells (ER, The West Wing).
Look for the series to officially join TNT’s lineup on Tuesday, January 12, at 10pm ET, with Season One airing first.
TNT Jada Pinkett Smith Drama Adds ‘Alias’ Alum Michael Vartan

Here’s some excellent casting news for a series we haven’t even seen yet. Back in September, I wrote about Jada Pinkett Smith’s potential TNT original drama Time Heals, which has since become a reality. Now comes news that Alias and Big Shots alum Michael Vartan, a perennial fan favorite, has joined the cast of the series as a replacement for Jeffrey Nordling (Dirt, 24), who played the same role in the pilot.

Next TNT Hit Drama Jada Pinkett Smith's 'Time Heals'
It may not be true just yet, but I’ve got my fingers and my toes crossed that this happens. According to an official statement released by TNT today, the network has given the thumbs up to Jada Pinkett Smith (The Women, The Matrix Reloaded, Menace II Society), who will executive produce and star in the pilot episode for a new potential drama called Time Heals.
