Is a ‘Dallas’ Revival Headed to TNT?

Are y’all ready for more dirty business down yonder in Texas?
If the insider scoop provided to The New York Times by a “knowledgeable” producer and agent is true, then there may very well be a re-imagination of the pop-culture TV classic Dallas in the works soon.

According to a brief report this week in the venerable newspaper, production studio Warner Brothers is keen on reviving the popular long-running nighttime soap that aired on CBS for 14 impressive seasons from 1978 to 1991.
The New York Times claims that the series, if given the go-ahead, would revolve around a contemporary generation of the original show’s central clan, the Ewings. Of particular interest would be John Ross, J. R. and Sue Ellen’s son, and Christopher, the son of Sue Ellen’s sister Kristin who was later adopted by Bobby and Pam.
Although Warner Brothers and TNT both refused to comment, apparently some of the original Dallas cast members are already in the know and have even been invited to participate in the possible TNT update. They include 78-year-old Larry Hagman (J. R.), 69-year-old Linda Gray (Sue Ellen), and 60-year-old Patrick Duffy (Bobby), all pictured above and looking absolutely fabulous at the November 2008 Dallas 30th Anniversary Reunion.
Now all we have to do is wait and see how this development unfolds.
