New Year’s Day Mega Movie Marathon

It’s almost a new year and a new decade, and TNT plans to inaugurate both with an all-day movie marathon on Friday, January 1, 2010.

Even better, the first six flicks in the nine-movie extravaganza will air with limited commercials, which will make them about ten minutes shorter than the two-hour broadcast television norm.

On January 6, the Standoff and Band of Brothers veteran, who currently plays police officer John Cooper on the NBC import, will visit the Windy City to attend an exclusive Q&A session and screening party for the crime drama, which will feature a previously unaired episode.
Catch Up on ‘Leverage’ Season Two

The current second season of Leverage returns on Wednesday, January 13, at 10pm ET, with six fresh episodes. Before then, however, fans might want to refresh their memory by reviewing what happened during the previous nine episodes.

Christmas 2009 TNT Marathons

Happy holidays, TNT fans. Tomorrow is Christmas Day, which means TNT has more marathons in store for viewers.

This year, the network will present an eight-hour Bones-fest from 12pm to 8pm ET, followed by all three two-hour flicks in Noah Wyle’s The Librarian series from 8pm to 2am on December 26.
Raising the Bar: Series Finale Marathon Spoilers

Yet, before saying one last goodbye, viewers will get to see the final three episodes in the ensemble legal drama’s ill-fated sophomore season: “Maybe, Baby,” “O! Say Can You Pee,” and “Happy Ending.”

The Closer: ‘Dead Man’s Hand’ Advance Review

It’s almost time for The Closer’s December 21 fifth-season finale “Dead Man’s Hand,” so continue reading for a brief advance review, courtesy of the advance copy of the episode that TNT was kind enough to send me a while ago.

As noted previously, the finale features the return of Battlestar Galactica alumna and two-time Academy Award nominee Mary McDonnell (pictured above at left), who plays Captain Sharon Raydor. Moreover, the episode was directed by none other than series creator James Duff.

Tonight, December 20, is the night that TNT presents its annual year-end holiday special Christmas in Washington, which is hosted this year by new late-night talk king George Lopez of TBS’ Lopez Tonight.

Featured during the network’s eleventh broadcast of the event are Grammy-winning artists Mary J. Blige, Neil Diamond, Sugarland, Rob Thomas, and Usher. So, if you wish, tune in at 8pm ET to enjoy the show with U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, who will both be present in the audience.
The Closer: ‘Dead Man’s Hand’ Photos

Southland: The Overview and The Preview

TNT has just released a couple more new videos for the highly anticipated NBC import Southland, which makes its network premiere on Tuesday, January 12, at 10pm ET.

The first clip is a 2½-minute preview montage featuring assorted scenes from the series, mixed with brief shots of series regulars Michael Cudlitz (John Cooper), Regina King (Lydia Adams), and Benjamin McKenzie (Ben Sherman), who provide a little context and insight into the show.
